SCRAPPERY ~ UPDATE

Hi there everyone. You might need to settle in with a cup of coffee for this post..sorry in advance. We just wanted to come by and make a blog post and update all our loyal subscribers and customers. As most of you know there have been some significant delays in the scrapbooking industry lately in relation to the latest releases and the newly released Heidi Swapp planners.

Obviously being a kit club we plan and order our kits months in advance in accordance to new releases and the timed arrivals of these releases so these recent delays have meant that our latest kits (and possibly some upcoming kits) might be delayed slightly.

After speaking to the wholesaler today in length we wanted to come by and update you all. The reason for these delays have been caused by several things. Firstly there was an industrial strike at a LA shipping port. As there was a lot of product coming into these ports and the strike began back in November (with them only going on official strike last week) it has caused a large backlog in products getting to manufacturers to be shipped to suppliers. So this was a huge pain! This stopped the Heidi Swapp planners in being released at the start of the year and lets face it, we all wanted them for Jan 1! To make matters worse now they have been delayed AGAIN because the binders (but not the accessories) have been delayed. We got frustrated when we saw that some retailers had received their stock here in Australia and after talking with our wholesaler and with American Crafts we discovered the issue was because the binders were delayed and while the first orders slipped out American Crafts then made the decision to halt all shipments of the Hello Beautiful planner line until all the products could ship together. This was so frustrating as the supplier that we order through fell into the latter category. So that particular line has been delayed until March 20. We know this is so frustrating for those that had preordered one of these planners, but we assure you that they will be worth the wait! They look so gorgeous.

Another scrapbook line that happened to be delayed is the Wanderlust collection by Heidi Swapp. We had planned to have this in May kits but as Nae is getting married in May we have decided not to have a May kit and rather feature some of the Wanderlust in the June kit. It was sort of frustrating as we were expecting this a lot sooner. It turns out that no Australian store should have this collection in until after June 20. The reason for this is because American Crafts have secured a contract with Spotlight for exclusivity during this time. We also noticed a couple of Australian stores already stocking this range and this was due to a similar situation as above with the departments within American Crafts not talking to each other and *some* orders slipped through the system and were sent without them knowing about the 'exclusive contract'.

So because we have decided to take a break in May as Nae does all the posting of kits and will be off getting married and honeymooning this means that the Wanderlust delay should not affect us too much.

Also the latest releases for the kits including; Craft Market, Maggie Holmes Confetti, Dear Lizzy were slightly delayed and moved for shipping for the first week of March. This was only a small delay and due to the backlog of shipping at the ports. We are hoping this delay at the ports will end very soon as they say the government will step in soon because these huge strikes are starting to affect the economy and even causing worldwide shipping container shortages.

So all in all, we basically want to apologise for the slightly mixed up release dates we have had for kits these last couple of months. It really has been beyond our control and as a kit club that relies so heavily on products arriving on time, it is super frustrating. We just really wanted to be upfront and honest with you all and make sure you knew just as much as we do.

We have also decided because of these delays and thinking about how our business runs as a whole to change the schedule for releases and peek parties. So below is the new schedule;
INVOICES SENT FOR SUBSCRIBERS ~ FIRST WEEK OF THE MONTH
PEEK PARTY ~ MIDDLE OF THE MONTH
KIT RELEASE DATE ~ LAST WEEK OF THE MONTH

One of our business goals when we started was to ensure that the kits were released on time each month and we are very upset that these last couple of months have seen delays that have been out of our hands. Hopefully with a new schedule and this strike easing, things will get back on track and we will start to see product arriving quicker and on time.

I know this post has been huge but I hope it has explained a few things to make sense of the delays these last few months.

We look forward to sharing our next February kit in the next week.

TSK CLEO ~ HELLO DARLING ~ SOPHIE

Hi everyone. I'm back with my first layout using January's gorgeous TSK, Cleo. I know I say this every month but this one may have to be my favourite kit so far. I adore this range by Dear Lizzy. The colour scheme is so fresh and funky, I especially love the navy.

For this layout I was inspired by the geometric hearts I've been seeing all over Pinterest leading up to Valentine's Day. I decided to put my own spin on the design and create a chevron effect at the top of the heart shape.

I decided to add one of the little ephemera heart in between the paper clip, which I thought was clever and looks super cute.

I used my machine to stitch around each of the triangles, which I think really finishes it off. I also left some threads loose to create a messy, whimsy feel.

I like everyone single one of the ephemera pieces but I especially LOVE the ones with phrases on them.  As a designer and lover of typography they made me happy. I think the 'X O X O' is my favourite. The gradients and choose of typeface just makes my heart happy.

For your entertainment I also create a process video.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Happy Scrapping,

PLK NOVA ~ WEEK 3 PROJECT LIFE SPREAD ~ KAYLA

Hi there lovely blog readers. I am back today to share another one of my Project Life spreads. I have been so proud of myself this year..why? I have kept up with my Project Life! This is a huge thing for me. Usually I am one to start a project and quickly toss it aside. That is why making the odd 12x12 layout was so easy for me. I could sit and do it when I liked and not worry about following a 'schedule'. HOWEVER...I really haven't found it as hard as I first thought it would be. I simply print my photos every week when I drop my son off to his grandmother's for a night stay and sit down when I have my day to myself and scrap that week's photos. I mean I know I am making that probably sound easy, but I am fitting it into my routine really well.

So, without further ado I want to share what I created with this month's beautiful kit NOVA.

I have shown you two images of the spread as I have a 6x8 spread in the middle which you can get a better look of in the process video. It helped me add some more photos to the look of which I had plenty! I absolutely loved combining this kit with these photos as the Dear Lizzy ~ Serendipity range had lots of images like ice creams and strawberries that were perfect to document our trip to the berry patch. I even used the gorgeous gold glasses to document a little card of a book I was reading this week. It just all worked so beautifully.

This shows a close up of the weekly title card. I used some of the gold sequin trim that you can also find in the BPK Kit ~ Orla. The gold glittered heart is also from Orla and the chalkboard flag and black number are from my own personal stash.

These are probably some of my favourite couple of cards. I loved the camera card with the smile on it. It was perfect for a simple filler card. I didn't do much other than add a heart and a tiny rhinestone. The other READ card documents a book series I was reading. I used a couple of die cuts from the TSK kit ~ Cleo and some stickers from the Dear Lizzy sticker sheet. I wrote directly on this kit, as it had a soft polka dot, it was easy to write on.

Ok I lied, I choose a new favourite only because these ice creams work so perfectly with this card. This week (and no it wasn't planned for these cards) we visited the berry patch and got fresh berry ice creams. I had a pink ice cream and how gorgeous does it look with those stickers? The other side is a picture of my son with his face sticking out of a horse's bottom. Haha! I used one of the vellum phrases from last month's kits from the Maggie Holmes Open Book collection but the hearts are from the Dear Lizzy sticker sheet.

This is part of the 6x8 pocket spread. I loved the 'smile' die cut. So cute and in both pictures my son was smiling and happy ~ cheeky as ever!

and as you will see in the process video I also created a Snap! 3x4 lift up pocket to hide another picture in there with some journalling. I adore this feather card. It looks so cute!

I hope you enjoyed this look at my spread using NOVA. I would love to see what you are doing with your kit. Please share on our Facebook page.

Much love.

One word - GOLD!!!!

I am hoping that the GOLD trend doesn't end any time soon because I just LOVE it!

One of the layouts I created at the Scrap N Chat a couple of weeks back was this layout...

I've used TSK - Clara for this layout, I think it would have to be the most favourite of the TSK kits from The Scrappery so far - its so girly and beautiful and pretty...

and of course all of the GOLD elements in it...
the Flower Die-Cuts, the Vellum, the Typewriter alpha...

I've also added the sequins from the BPK Noelle - love that I can combine kits, they worked well together with this page...

Are you IN LOVE with Gold like I am?

Would love to see YOUR gold creations!

Thanks for popping by!
