TSK ALICE & BPK MAUDE ~ ALL SUITED UP ~ SOPHIE

Hey hey everyone. It's Sophie here with a layout using two of the May kits featuring the ever so lovely range from Jen Hadfield. This month I was back to playing with the TSK and BPK.

Despite the florals and pinks featured in this kit I decided to create more of a masculine layout and use a photo of my brother, Max.
I started by using the mask in the BPK to create a very subtle background. I sprayed some mist over it onto another piece of cardstock, then took the mask and pressed it over this piece.

Behind my photo I used some of the papers from the TSK as well as a tag which (I think) came in the Bits and Pieces Kit, Maude. The doily and film strip were from my stash.

I don't know if you've notice but I don't often use Thickers and make titles on my layouts. Not only do I not know what to put as the title, but most of the time I don't know where to put it. I don't design layouts with a place for a title in mind and when I finish it I can't find the right place to put it.
To create this title I used the Thickers from the kit as well some tiny alphas. These ones are from the Confetti sticker sheet which was in April's PLK.

To embellish I used the glitter chevron arrows and the enamel chevron stickers from the BPK.
I also added some tiny word stickers which I'm obsessing over still. This photo was taken before the Deb Ball which my brother was in, if you're wondering why I chose to use this phrase.

I will be back soon with a more feminine layout, and hopefully a process video.

PLK FAITH ~ 20 ~ SOPHIE

Hey y'all, guess who's back? I'm here with a layout using the March PLK, Faith! I just had enough left over from my mini album to create this layout. I probably even have enough for another layout. I have so much ephemera left over.

While creating my mini album I decided I wanted to use this colour scheme in my next layout. Kind of obsessed with this colour palette at the moment. Check out my Pinterest feed if you need proof.
I think this would've looked a lot better with a black and white photo. I just didn't have any with me.

The patterned paper I used was cut up left overs from my mini album. A had a couple of 6x4 cards left over but I didn't choose to use them.

I also added a peg from the BPK, Aria and a tiny word sticker from the Confetti range. These weren't available in the March kits but you can find them the April BPK. Yay, now I have two packs. That was not sarcastic by the way.

Ok, so here's the thing. I did make a process video but the internet on my laptop has completely stopped working. Which is just what you need during the last week of Uni right? And when you have a video to upload. It's been like that all week so hopefully it will start working again soon and I can share it with you.

PLK FAITH ~ MINI ALBUM ~ SOPHIE

Hello everyone! Today I'm so excited to share with you this little mini album I created using the PLK,  Faith. I won't be creating with the TSK this month which is totally fine with me because this kit is AMAZINGLY gorgeous. I'm so happy I got the chance to play with it instead. The Confetti range is so fun. I love the colours, the motifs and those tiny word are to die for.

Project Life cards are so perfect for making mini albums and I found decorating it is much like embellishing your PL spreads. Not that I've ever done any project lifing before. As this kit is themed around birthday and parties and all that good stuff I decided to scrap some photo's from a little photo shoot I had on my birthday. It was so cold that day. I don't remember the last time I wore jeans and it rained on my birthday, if ever.

Below I added a wood veneer arrow from the BPK, Aria. That gorgeous glitter heart is also from the Bits and Piece's Kit.

I made a pocket to insert journalling cards into, and also included one from the BPK.

I can totally see why all you PLer's love label and tiny word stickers. I loved layering them as you can probably see. I am officially obsessed. My tiny word stickers are from the Confetti collection which were already in my stash.

I was at Uni when I created this so unfortunately not within reach of a sewing machine. Otherwise, I would've sewed the hell out of this album. Maybe I will when I get home.

This is a pocket from the BPK which I am going to add a journaling card too.

I also created a very long process video. At the end I do I flicked through of the album for you to get a better idea of what it looks like all together so you can jump to that if you don't want to hear me ramble on for 18 minutes. TSK BELLA ~ W & S ~ SOPHIE

Hello hello! Oh my goodness, these kits are full of so much love! So many hearts, pinks and reds and the word 'love' that I decided I had no choice but to continue to document it. This time I'm scrapbooking this photo from my uncles wedding. I just love the contrast in this picture. So perfect for scrapbooking. 

That Aztec printed paper was by far my favourite in to the kit so I wanted to feature it a little more on this layout. I added some texture paste over it to mute it a little and blend it into the white cardstock.  I then applied some extra paste and some Heidi Swapp Colour Shine over my dotted Heidi Swapp mask. And of course I had to finish it off with some ink splatters. 

I also added some tiny rub-ons from the BPK amongst the splatters which really added something extra to the layout. 

As well as products from the two kits I also used some washi tape and some We Are Memory Keepers transparency behind my photo. Not that I needed to. I still have so much more of Bella and Valerie left over. What about you?

TSK BELLA & BPK VALERIE ~ BEST FRIENDS FOR EVER ~ SOPHIE

Hello, hello! I'm back today with another layout using the gorgeous TSK, Bella. I also used some bits and pieces from the Bits and Pieces Kit. I used more photos of my cousins as I had some left over from my previous layout. There were so many great photo's taken that day that there was no way I could include them all on one layout.

I wanted to keep it quite simple so I just used die-cuts from the ephemera pack and washi tape behind my photos. The ephemera pieces were the perfect size to matte my photos, like I mentioned in my previous post. I also used quite a few hearts from the pack in the Scrappery Kit to embellishment my layout. You can can pick it up in the store here if you missed getting you hands on a kit.

As well as pieces from the kits I have also included some products from the shop including some cute little alphas from Elle's Studio and some washi tape. So much extra goodness in the store so make sure you check it out.

I couldn't resist using some of these super cute rub-ons from the BPK. They are the perfect finishing touch and are so easy to apply. Like, really easy so be careful when deciding where to put them on your layout because you don't want them to transfer where you don't want them.

TSK BELLA ~ SISTERS ~ SOPHIE

Hi everyone, today's layout is featuring, Bella, the gorgeous TSK from February. While this kit is themed around love and Valentine's Day it doesn't have to feature a married couple or boyfriend and girlfriend. It could about love of any kind. I decided to scrap about my cousins, Daisy and Holly who, as you can see have a love/hate relationship like most sisters. It's mostly love though let me tell you.

To show case the beautiful papers in the kit I created this starburst design. It was actually quite quick and easy to achieve. Firstly find the centre of your piece of cardstock. Then simply cut off a strip of paper at an angle, place the tip on the centre mark then mark and trim what hangs off the page.

As the design creates a focal point in the centre of the page I decided to place my photo there as well as directing the arrows to that point to further emphasise it.

Behind my photo I have used only cards from the ephemera pack. The pieces in the pack vary in size and as I love to use smaller photos on my layouts they were perfect for creating a matte behind my photo. I would've liked to add different textures behind my photo but I created this while at Uni and didn't have anything on hand.

I have also added a couple of the puffy, leather stickers from the Bits and Pieces Kit, Valerie. So, so cute.

 

I also added some black chevron washi tape which I picked up from the store. The store is full of everything you need to finish of your layout, not just kits, so be sure to check it out and pick yourself up a few extra things.

TSK CLEO ~ HELLO DARLING ~ SOPHIE

Hi everyone. I'm back with my first layout using January's gorgeous TSK, Cleo. I know I say this every month but this one may have to be my favourite kit so far. I adore this range by Dear Lizzy. The colour scheme is so fresh and funky, I especially love the navy. 

For this layout I was inspired by the geometric hearts I've been seeing all over Pinterest leading up to Valentine's Day. I decided to put my own spin on the design and create a chevron effect at the top of the heart shape. 

I decided to add one of the little ephemera heart in between the paper clip, which I thought was clever and looks super cute.

I used my machine to stitch around each of the triangles, which I think really finishes it off. I also left some threads loose to create a messy, whimsy feel.

I like everyone single one of the ephemera pieces but I especially LOVE the ones with phrases on them.  As a designer and lover of typography they made me happy. I think the 'X O X O' is my favourite. The gradients and choose of typeface just makes my heart happy.

TSK CLARA ~ LOVE ~ SOPHIE

Hi all, I'm back with my 3rd layout using the December TSK, Clara. Plus a couple of cards and let me tell you, I still have enough left over for at least two more layouts. I went for a Valentine's day themed layout. Not necessarily the photo but the feel of the layout. I did this by combining reds and pink with black and gold. And love hearts and lots of flowers of course.

I started off with some white card stock from my own stash, as usual, and created a background with mist, stamping and texture paste. 

 I mixed some paper flowers with the a couple of die-cut flowers from Maggie Holmes to create dimension and add a little extra interest to the page.

 I also added quite a few sequins and enamel drops from previous kits. I actually used quite a few things from previous kits.
 I add heaps left over and the colours worked perfectly with my layout. The wooden buttons can be found in the December BPK.

 I also created two cards, perfect for Valentines day. (Not that I have anyone to give them too *sigh LOL)

 I love the flower ephemera pieces from Maggie Holmes as they make creating cards so easy. Essentially you could just add it to the card, add a title and you're done.

 I also added some chipboard pieces from the pack in the kit as my titles.

Another, very different layout using Clara. I love this kit and it's versatility. Can't wait to continue scrapping with it. Until the January and February kits arrive that is.

TSK - Clara - Layout (with Sophie)

Hi guys. It Sophie again. 

Today's layout is a bit different to the other Clara layout I created. Seeing as the Maggie Holmes' style is quite vintage, I decided to use a old photo and create a vintage inspired layout. 

I started of by creating a mixed media background using mist, masks and a little modelling paste and a stamp. I also used lots of fabrics, calico, muslin and tulle (which can be found in the kit) behind my photo.

 I used a brad and some chipboard. I layered some twine I found in my stash on top of the chipboard piece to add a heritage feel. And it creates an awesome matte for my photo and adds dimension.

 I also added some of the flowers and leaves from the pack in the kit. I seriously love these. This is my kind of ephemera pack.

If your wondering, the photo is of my dad and auntie. It was taken in our front yard on our farm, in 1969 I'm pretty sure. It looks a lot different now, however the fence and gate is still there.

How versatile is this kit to be able to create two layouts, using slightly different styles? I'm sure there will be many more to come so be sure to subscribe. Remember we still have an amazing prize up for grabs for anyone who purchases a six month subscription.

BPK - Noelle - Mini Album (with Sophie)

Hi everyone.

I'm back with something a little different. I made a mini-album using Noelle, the Christmas themed BPK for December. I was trying to think of something different to create using this kit when the Pink Paislee 4x4 cards inspired me to make this little album. 

I haven't done a mini-album for a very long time, possibly years, so I might be a little rusty but it was so much fun to create. And it was the perfect way to display these photo I took on Christmas day in my make-shift photobooth.

I went for a red, pink and green colour scheme to match the backdrop in my photos. (Which I made out of tissue paper BTW).

As well as using bits from the kit I also used some little embellishments from past kits and from my stash.

As you can see below I added some wooden buttons, sequins and 'candy' enamel dots throughout my album. I also added a few bows like the one below on my uncles neck.

 I also painted some of the mistable stars from the Elsa kit and added them throughout my pages.

For the page below I cut out the tree, which was printed on the card and added some of the red and white striped bag in the window.

 I also cut up one of the paper bags. I really love the bright red colour and how striking it looks in the background. I also added some strip of the 'love heart' washi tape from TSK, Clara.

I made a little star-shaped shaker pocket with the sequins in the kit.

I hope you like todays little project and it has given you some ideas on what to create with your BPK. It is a great way to document those Christmas photos.
