MEET THE SUBSCRIBERS ~ SHEY

Happy Monday lovelies!

Welcome back to another week - and that means it's time to meet another subscriber!  Today we are going to find out a bit more about Shey!

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and where you are from.
My name is Shey (short for Sheylene. A mouthful ah) I'm a central coast girl at heart but live in Lake Macquarie which is equally as lovely. I'm in my 30's & a mumma bear to a beautiful, funny & sassy 10 year old girl who is my world. Huge animal lover especially dogs :)

 2. When did you start scrapbooking or Pocket Scrapbooking and what drew you to the craft?
I got invited to a creative memories party plan in my teens; and I completed a layout that day. Loved it, had so much fun. Never really went further with it though as back then I really didn't have many photos and I wasn't quite sure what I would scrap about? So I started making cards & selling them at the local shops; but didn't continue for long. When I had my DD I actually got back into scrapping (traditional) as soon as I had her. I contacted my friend from the original CM party and she was then selling CM as well. So I started - I completed the first year of my daughters life then stopped. Life got busy; was a single mum trying to work & be a mum etc. Eight years later a friend shared a pic on Facebook of an album she was doing for her boys; it was pocket pages & I was intrigued! She also happen to work at a local SS and she said 'come in and I'll get you set up'! As they say the rest is history. My biggest regret was not at least documenting things during my non-scrappy time. I now do mainly pocket pages; however I do traditional, mainly of my favourite photos.

 3. Name you FIVE favourite supplies and no cheating...only five.
Boy only 5 lol. a) Enamel dots; b) tape runner Teresa Collins one - love that gun! c) SU trimmer d) thickers & e) pocket pages cards.

4. What influences you and your style?
To be honest I don't have a style. I look at so many styles of scrappers and I love them all. I can't decide what my style is so my albums are mish mash in a nice way (I think) I do adore lots of white space.

5. Who would be at your dream crop night?
None of my friends scrap, I'd love to convert them so we could have get togethers.

6. Favourite collection ever released?
Anything crate paper!

7. What's your favourite technique currently?
Water Colouring. I've recently cracked open my paints after watching starsinthepalm & I'm in lurve with them.

8. Do you love to get messy or keep things clean and simple?
Both! Don't get messy often but I do enjoy it when I do. I have an art journal that I want to get more into this year. Love my Dyan paints, they are so therapeutic when I use them. Watching inkie quill get messy and seeing what she makes is also inspiring

9. Favourite colour to scrapbook with?
Pinks, aqua & gold (sorry can't do just 1)

10. Which scrappery kits do you subscribe to and why do you love the scrappery?
PLK & BPK. Love them as you don't have to think when completing a page. They co-ordinate so well together you can make them work with any photo.

STASH STORAGE SATURDAY ~ SARAH ~ ALEX DRAWERS

Hello there Scrappery fans!  It's Sarah on the blog again today to show you more of my Scrap Space.  I love being an organized crafter!  I keep almost all of my stash in my large Alex drawers from Ikea.  I really do not have much of a "stash".  I either use up or sell most of my supplies when I am done documenting the season.

Top drawer holds wood veneer case and Cricut cartridges.

Second drawer holds 12x12 card stock, craft foam, cutting mats, blades for the Cricut and 8.5x11 card stock.

Third drawer holds fall themed papers, stickers and embellishments.  All loose embellishments go into Iris Brand insert trays from Michael's.

Fourth drawer has February layout and PL papers, stickers and embellishments.

Fifth drawer has Christmas and December Daily leftovers and my Evolution matts.

Sixth drawer has Spring themed layout and PL goodies.

I tend to be a seasonal scrapper.  I live in Minnesota and we get HUGE seasonal changes.  Summer can be as hot as 100 degrees fahrenheit and winter can be as cold as -20!  I also love to document the seasons and take a lot of pictures of the weather, trees, leaves and flowers.  So, that's why my Alex drawers tend to be sorted by season.

Watch for a few more posts from me on the blog about my Scrap Space!  I can't wait for my first kits to come so I can start creating and sharing!

STASH STORAGE SATURDAY ~ SARAH ~ RASKOG

Hello everyone, it's Sarah on the blog today.

Welcome to my Scrap Space!  I thought I'd invite you all in to see how I organize and create.  First of all, here are a few over all pictures of my room.

I have Ikea Alex desk and drawer units, a Raskog and matching chair.

The couch is also from Ikea.  My girls like to watch movies on it while I scrap.

My Kallax houses all of my albums, my old Cuttlebug, my typewriter and two teal bins full of miscellaneous junk.

My Raskog is probably my most used crafty items, so I thought I'd show it to you today!

The top has an Antonius container from Ikea.  I keep all of my most used items up here.  Heidi Shine, stamps, roller date stamps, dies, adhesives and current circulation Thickers.

Second level also has an Antonius container.  This one has 6x6 pads (non-Crate Paper), Thickers (non-Crate Paper), 4x6 and 3x4 cards, doilies and twine.  I usually stick my current circulation stickers on the right side.

The bottom level also has an Antonius container.  This is where my Crate Paper goodies live.  I also put my Citrus Twist kits on the right side.  Crate Paper Thickers are in back.  Phrase roller stamps and Kaisercraft rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today and keep an eye out for more posts about my Scrap Space.  I can't wait to share all of the fun hiding in my Alex drawers!

MEET THE SUBSCRIBERS ~ Stace!

Good Morning Scrappery Fans!!

Today I am pleased to bring you the first of a new series of blog posts - Mondays will be all about getting to know our lovely subscribers a little better!

First up we have the lovely Stace!

We asked Stace 10 questions to find out a bit more about her and her scrapbooking, so this is what she told us:

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and where you are from.
My name is Stacie though I go by Stace these days! I was born and raised on the NW Coast of Tasmania before relocating interstate in 2006 to Sydney, and then onwards to SE Queensland where I live today with my 3 children (Kaleb 10, Gretchen 4 and Oscar 2) and our rescue cat Arnold.
I’m an at-home/homeschooling mum with plans in the next few years to study a degree in Social Work/Child Safety and I also run my own wellness business.

2. When did you start scrapbooking or Pocket Scrapbooking and what drew you to the craft?
I first started scrapping in 2005 when I was pregnant with Kaleb and stopped a few years later after I had a layout published in Scrapbook Creations magazine- I’d accomplished a scrapbooking goal and voila, my mojo disappeared! I was a traditional 12x12 scrapper at that stage, having only recently moved into mixed media and Project Life spreads this year when I took up crafting after a 5 year break.

3. Name you FIVE favourite supplies and no cheating...only five.
My five fave supplies would have to be Heidi Shine, masking/stencilling, stamping, ephemera and pattern paper layering. They’re definitely my go-to items on virtually every layout.

4. What influences you and your style?
Since taking up the hobby again, I’ve been super-heavily influenced by youtuber’s – Adele Toomey, Wilna Furstenburg, Amy Tan, Jen Schow, The Scrappery CT … the list could go on forever. I’m also inspired by papers and colours in photos. My style leans towards simple but with a lot of layering, stamping and a bit of mixed media background work. I really enjoy adding textured elements to my spreads.

5. Who would be at your dream crop night?
The Scrappery women of course! Past and present CT members – Adele and Zoe have given me a lot of inspiration since I started scrapping again.

6. Favourite collection ever released?
I’ve not been crafting for long since taking it back up so I’m not completely up to date with current collections but I have really enjoyed the Crate Paper ‘Story Teller’ and the Maggie Holmes ‘Open Book’ collections – they’re right up my alley!

7. What's your favourite technique currently?
It would have to be inking – ever since I watched Adele share the ‘packaging technique’ I’ve been utterly obsessed with adding it to my layouts!

8. Do you love to get messy or keep things clean and simple?
I happily sit on the fence – I like clean and simple elements on my pages but I also really enjoy getting messy!

9. Favourite colour to scrapbook with?
Gold! Gold, gold gold lol Teal, purple and white are favourites too

10. Which scrappery kits do you subscribe to and why do you love the scrappery?
I currently subscribe to the PLK but will be adding the TSK to my subscription soon – I just can’t get enough of TSKC kits. They’re always so beautifully put together, and I really love that the business is based in Australia – and near my home town no less! Kayla always goes above and beyond to include the latest products and everything included in the kits is magic .. I looked at other kit club subscriptions and nothing even came close in terms of product and value for money :)

Here is one of Stace's layouts - isn't it gorgeous??

If you are a current subscriber and would be happy to share a little about yourself and be featured in our 'Meet the Subscribers' series please email us your answers to the above questions to scrapperykitclub@gmail.com with a photo of you and your work!  We'd love to get to know you all a little better!!
