BPK - Noelle - Mini Album (with Sophie)

Hi everyone.

I'm back with something a little different. I made a mini-album using Noelle, the Christmas themed BPK for December. I was trying to think of something different to create using this kit when the Pink Paislee 4x4 cards inspired me to make this little album. 

I haven't done a mini-album for a very long time, possibly years, so I might be a little rusty but it was so much fun to create. And it was the perfect way to display these photo I took on Christmas day in my make-shift photobooth.

I went for a red, pink and green colour scheme to match the backdrop in my photos. (Which I made out of tissue paper BTW).

As well as using bits from the kit I also used some little embellishments from past kits and from my stash.

As you can see below I added some wooden buttons, sequins and 'candy' enamel dots throughout my album. I also added a few bows like the one below on my uncles neck.

 I also painted some of the mistable stars from the Elsa kit and added them throughout my pages.

For the page below I cut out the tree, which was printed on the card and added some of the red and white striped bag in the window.

 I also cut up one of the paper bags. I really love the bright red colour and how striking it looks in the background. I also added some strip of the 'love heart' washi tape from TSK, Clara.

I made a little star-shaped shaker pocket with the sequins in the kit.

I hope you like todays little project and it has given you some ideas on what to create with your BPK. It is a great way to document those Christmas photos.

TSK - Clara (uh oh, Adele's attempting 12x12")

Hello hello!

I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and brought in the New Year with those you love!

I have a confession to make.

Until two weeks ago I had never completed a 12 x 12” spread. 

I know. I have so much paper, and yet hoard those beautiful papers like there’s no tomorrow…

But after watching hours of traditional process videos, I decided to take the plunge. This is one of my latest layouts and while scrapping, I realised four factors in all of my layouts so far…

* I like using white cardstock as a base and matting it on patterned paper.

* I love layering.

* I actually like a lot of white space (which is COMPLETELY opposite to my PL)

* I am still an embellishment junkie.

I challenge you to have a look at your albums and reflect on what are your four go to’s, I would love to hear your comments below!

So here she is, another page for my wedding album using TSK – Clara as well as a few bits from my stash. I didn’t follow a sketch, just played with the embellishments until I found something that worked for me. I’m pretty happy with the result, it’s quite different to my other spreads that I have just done.

When I started looking through the Maggie Holmes Crate Paper “Open Book” floral ephemera pack (wow that’s a mouthful!) I noticed how many green-ish flowers there were…not my real go to. I actually really dislike green when I scrap, I just never can seem to make it work. So I thought, why not use them all in one layout?! I must admit, I had one and a half packs to work with, so there are a few extras in here. I decided to make a rough wreath type shape around the photo, to keep focus on the picture. 

I layered my photo on the Open Book Gold Vellum Newspaper Print, which is divine!! I thought it gave the photo something to rest on, so it wasn't just floating in the midst of a green flower sea. Lol. I thought it's delicate vellum-ness (yes, that is now a word) was enough to anchor it without overpowering. 

I added some of the turquoise Freckled Fawn resin flowers, as well as some enamel dots from my stash. I decided I needed a little cluster down the bottom corner as the layout looked a little uneven, so I used a few stickers from my stash and a piece of chipboard from the Open Book collection in the kit. 

I thought I needed a statement title and couldn’t go past these gold thickers from my stash..

I may be currently obsessed with these…

Super happy with this traditional (yet untraditional for me!) layout, I would love to hear how you have used the many floral embellishments in TSK!

PLK Spread ~ using Leonardo ~ by Kayla

Hi guys. I know it's been a long time since you have seen any posts from me ~ sorry!
I do have quite a few process videos sitting on my computer just waiting to be shared, I just haven't had the time with my 11 month old sucking any spare time I have. He's going through a real Mummy stage. I find it hard to scrap with him hanging off me ~ lol!

So back to this spread. I absolutely ADORED the Leonardo kit. The colours are amazing and the cards worked so well with the Amy Tan Stitched collection. I love the watercolour effects and I love that they are gender neutral. I don't Project Life my daily life, I do my son's so it's always a plus when they aren't too girly for me!

Here is the spread I created...

As you can see I'm only up to week 24 of my son's 45ish? weeks. I have a lot of catching up to do. These kits are great though for catching up on Project Life because I can just sit down with the kit and not worry about mixing and matching products because Nae does such a fantastic job of designing all the cards and products to work perfectly together.

I used my typewriter to do the journalling on the top right card. I absolutely love my typewriter however I do talk in the process video about how I have come to love adding my own handwriting as well. I think it's really special especially in this book for my son. I am hoping one day he will appreciate having a 'piece of me' in his album.

The mint heart title card was my favourite card from the kit by far. Those who know me know that I absolutely love mint. I have mint everything and so this beautiful card just had to be the feature card on the spread.

Here you can see some of my handwriting and my bad uneven line drawing but hey...you have to embrace imperfection.

Lucky by Charm Koch - Layering Embellishments

Hi people! I thought I would share a 12x12 layout this time! I knew I had to create a layout using a photo of my partner and I using all the Lovey Dovey embellishments from The Scrappery Kits, I created this layout on last Saturday Nights Scrap N Chat.

I started off with the gorgeous Vellum from the TSK Clara, and then just kept adding the Clear Accent Stickers, Ephemera bits and Rubons from the Camille kit, Enamel Dots & brads from the November BPK until I was happy that it was enough!

Here are a few closeups, to give you an idea of the layering and the 3D effect...

Here I have layered a Clear Accent Sticker {Lucky Love} over the top of the green watercolour circle rubon.

I've used a mix of different heart embellishments and a mix of circle embellishments too, I think this helps tie it together well.

 I hope you've been inspired to use up some of the many gorgeous embellishments from The Scrappery Kits!

Project Life Wk 51 - using The Scrappery December kits {and more!}

Hello! Charmane here today!

I am WAY behind in my Project Life 2014, but I have decided to keep plodding along and choosing my most favourite weeks and events.

SO, I just HAD to scrap my family christmas get together - and the PLK Leonardo was perfect for this - plus a few bits from other kits too...

I decided to use the Kraft, White & Gold Project Life cards from the kit, along with a couple from the Becky Higgins Golden Kit that I purchased from The Scrappery shop & I have made my own PL cards to match in as well.

Here's a closer look at the Left side:

For the Week 51 title, I have used one of the PL cards from the PLK Leonardo kit and the alphas, along with sequins from the BPK Noelle and bits from previous kits...

To create this card I have actually stapled a 3x4 card to this 4x4 photo to make it look like a 6x4 card. I have added rubons & alphas and then journalled.

Here is the Right side {My favourite side}:

I am absolutely LOVING the brads from the TSK Clara kit & the adorable bows in the BPK Noelle too!

On this 3x4 PL card I have used the cute little chalkboard journalling spot and Candy brads from the BPK Noelle kit & all I needed to do was add a machine stitched border around the glittery Merry Christmas PL card from the PLK Leonardo kit - keeping it simple but effective!

On this 6x4 {which is from the BH Golden Kit that was in The Scrappery store} I have added the heart from the American Crafts - Stitched - Clear Accent Stickers and used the thickers from the PLK Leonardo kit. The journalling spot I have used is one of the Printables that are exclusive to The Scrappery Subscribers.

The 3x4 PL Card below is one of my favourites from the whole spread - I've used a mix of embellishments from new and old Scrappery kits.

The Gold Embossed PL card I have created myself, using the Dotty mask from a previous kit, along with Watermark Ink & Gold Embossing Powder. I've then stuck on the Wood Veneer heart from my stash.

I love that it's possible to mix the kits up - so if you are like me, and love ALL the kits there's no reason why you can't combine them and come up with gorgeous Project Life Spreads and layouts!

November TSK - Clara - Layout and Process Video (with Sophie)

Hi everyone.

I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Mine was busy that's for sure; Christmas at our house, 4 family birthdays, including my own, and a NYE party. I had planned to have this up before Christmas but the video I made to accompany it will not upload for whatever reason, until now.

I created a Christmas layout using December's TSK, Clara. I wanted to challenge myself to create a Christmas layout using non-traditional themed papers and colours. Because, tis' the season, right?! I was not, not going to share with you guys something Christmasy.

The task wasn't too hard as the kit features Maggie Holmes latest range which includes lots of gold and deer motifs.

I chose to include some stars on my layout to enhance the Christmas feel. I found a chipboard star, traced around it and then used a craft knife and ruler to cut it out before sticking a piece of patterned paper behind the shape I cut out.

 I even added a bauble to my layout because HOW CUTE IS IT! I purchased these recently from Typo, not for any particular reason but I knew I would find a use for them. This layout probably won't be going in my album though.

MORE Christmas Cards - using BPK Noelle

I don't think I've made so many Christmas Cards as I have this year! I think it must be the gorgeous goodies I have been inspired to use this year!

I needed to make just a few more extras, so when I saw the BPK Noelle I knew it would be easy to whip up more...

And here is what I have come up with...

It was quite easy to put these together:

Cut a 12x12 Kraft Cardstock in half, and score in half again. Fold to make card base. {This will make TWO cards of course}

Fold the Red Candy stripe bag to fit in the 6x6 size of card, layer with one of the 4x4 patterned papers over the top, then layer with one of the gorgeous Christmas tags {make sure you add the twine to the tags}.

When I was happy with the positioning I have stapled the 3 layers together {don't staple directly to Kraft cardstock or it will show through on the inside of card}

Add the extra embellishments - I have sprinkled sequins, added washi tape and the cute little bows from the kit. 

The Wood Veneers and alphas were from my stash - I am sure you all have something like that in your stash that you could add? 

I know there must be a few of you that have the BPK Noelle kit - I would LOVE to see what you are doing/have done with yours! Please share in the comments! And let me know what you think of these cards too!
